The Thief and the Demon

Story 50 Crows & Owls 1 min read Ages 3–10

A poor teacher was given two fine cows as a gift, and he led them home happily.

That night a thief came to steal the cows. At the very same moment a demon came too.

"I was here first," said the thief. "I will take the cows."

"And I will take the man," said the demon. "So I should go first."

They argued so loudly that the teacher woke up and saw them both.

He called his neighbours, and the two robbers ran away with nothing at all.
