How the Birds Chose a King
All the birds gathered to choose a king. They liked the solemn owl, who looked very wise.
The crown was ready and the ceremony was about to begin.
Then a crow arrived late and asked, "Why choose a king who cannot see by day?"
"We already have the eagle and the peacock," he said. "Why pick someone who sleeps when we are awake?"
The birds thought about it and put the crown away.
The owl never forgave the crow, and that is how the long quarrel began.
Choose a leader who can do the job, not just one who looks the part.
