The Dove Who Gave Everything

Story 49 Crows & Owls 2 min read Ages 3–10

On a cold, wet night a hunter lost his way and sat shivering under a tree.

A dove looked down from her nest. "Whoever comes to my tree is my guest," she said.

She gathered dry twigs and dropped them down so he could make a small fire.

Then she brought him berries and fruit from far away until he was no longer hungry.

The hunter looked up at the little bird who had nothing, and had given him everything.

In the morning he left his net behind and went home a kinder man.
