The Crow Who Made a Plan
The crows could not win against the owls by fighting, so their oldest crow made a plan.
"Let me pretend to be cast out," he said. "Then the owls will take me in."
It worked. The owls found him alone and hurt, and carried him kindly to their cave.
He lived among them quietly, watching, listening and never once losing his temper.
When the time was right, he led his own flock to the cave entrance.
The long war ended that day, and the birds finally learned to keep to their own homes.
Patience and a plan can do what shouting and fighting never could.
