The Bird with Golden Feathers
A wonderful bird lived in a king's garden, and each day it dropped one golden feather.
The gardener collected them gently and the king grew rich and happy.
But a greedy minister said, "Why wait for one a day? Catch the bird and take them all."
So they set a net and caught the poor frightened bird.
In the cage it dropped no feathers at all, and the gold turned to ordinary brown.
The king opened the door and let it fly, but the bird never came back.
Grabbing at a good thing can make it disappear.
