Peace at Last
After the long quarrel ended, the crows sat in their banyan tree and thought.
"We won," said a young crow. "Then why does nobody feel happy?"
The oldest crow looked out at the empty rocks where the owls had lived.
"Because winning a fight is not the same as being at peace," he said.
From that day the crows kept to the daytime and the owls to the night, and both slept soundly.
Winning a quarrel is not the same as living in peace.
