The Ant and the Grasshopper
All summer long, a little ant carried food back to her home, grain by grain.
Nearby, a grasshopper played his fiddle and sang. 'Why work so hard?' he laughed.
The ant smiled and kept working. 'Winter is coming,' she said, 'and I want to be ready.'
When cold winter came, the grasshopper was hungry and shivering in the snow.
The kind ant shared her food and warm home. The grasshopper learned to plan ahead.
It is wise to work hard today so you are ready for tomorrow.
