The Little Red Hen

2 min read Ages 3–8

A little red hen found some grains of wheat. "Who will help me plant these?" she asked.

The cat, the dog, and the pig all said, "Not I!" So the little red hen planted the wheat herself.

When the wheat grew tall, she asked for help to cut it. Again her friends said, "Not I!"

She ground the wheat into flour and baked it into warm, golden bread all by herself.

Now everyone wanted to help eat it! But the little red hen said, "I will eat it myself." And she did, with her chicks.
