The Crow and the Snake
A crow and his wife built a nest in a tall tree. Below lived a greedy black snake.
Every time the eggs hatched, the snake climbed up and the little ones were gone. The crows wept.
They asked a wise old jackal for help. He thought for a while and smiled.
The next day the crow flew to the palace pond and snatched the queen's shining necklace.
The guards chased him. He dropped the necklace right into the snake's hole.
The guards came with sticks, and the snake had to leave. The crows raised their babies in peace.
When you cannot win by strength, win by thinking.
