The Barber Who Saw Gold
A poor but honest man dreamed that a monk came to his house and turned into gold.
The next morning a monk did visit, and the man greeted him kindly and gave him food.
His neighbour, a barber, heard the story and misunderstood it completely.
"So monks turn into gold!" he thought, and he invited many monks to his own house.
Of course nothing happened, and the barber got into trouble with everyone.
The judge said, "He copied the act but never understood the meaning."
Copying what someone does, without understanding why, leads to trouble.
