The Four Friends

Story 21 Winning Friends 1 min read Ages 3–10

By a quiet lake lived four friends: a crow, a mouse, a turtle and a deer.

They were as different as could be. One could fly, one could dig, one could swim, one could run.

Every evening they met by the water and shared their news and their food.

"We are not strong alone," said the turtle, "but together we are never afraid."

And it was true. Whenever one was in trouble, the other three came running.

Their friendship kept all four of them safe for many happy years.
