The Crow and the Pitcher

1 min read Ages 3–8

On a hot day, a thirsty crow searched everywhere for water.

At last she found a pitcher with a little water at the bottom — but her beak could not reach it.

The clever crow had an idea. She picked up small pebbles one by one.

Each pebble she dropped in made the water rise higher and higher.

Soon the water was high enough. The happy crow drank and flew away.
