The Sandals on the Throne
Bharata begged Rama to come home and be king. But Rama gently said, "I must keep my promise and stay in the forest."
Bharata thought of a beautiful idea. "Then give me your sandals," he said.
Rama smiled and gave Bharata his simple wooden sandals.
Back in Ayodhya, Bharata placed the sandals on the royal throne. "These will rule for Rama," he said. "I am only his helper."
Bharata ruled the kingdom humbly in Rama's name, never once sitting on the throne himself.
A humble heart serves others instead of seeking glory.
