Story 19 Into the Forest 1 min read Ages 3–10

The day came for Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana to leave Ayodhya.

The people were sad. They lined the streets to say goodbye. Some cried softly.

But Rama walked with a calm and brave heart. He was not afraid of the forest or the long years ahead.

"Be happy," Rama told the people gently. "I will return. Take good care of one another while I am gone."

With a brave smile, the three friends stepped out to begin their new life.
