The Frog and the Golden Ring
A frog found a golden ring at the bottom of his pond and wore it on his head like a crown.
The other frogs looked at him with wide eyes, and he liked that very much.
Soon he sat on the highest stone all day so everyone could see it shine.
He stopped swimming, stopped hunting flies and stopped talking to his friends.
One evening a heron spotted the flash of gold from far away and came gliding down.
The frog dived deep and let the ring sink, and found he could breathe easily again.
