The Bullock Left Behind

Story 74 Losing What You Won 1 min read Ages 3–10

A merchant's bullock grew too tired to pull the cart, so he was left by the riverside.

The grass there was thick and sweet. Slowly he grew strong again.

He grew so strong that his bellow rolled across the forest like thunder.

The lion king heard it and was afraid of this unknown giant.

But when they finally met, the lion found only a gentle, peaceful bullock.

They became good friends, and the forest learned that a big voice is not always a big danger.

The moral of the story

Do not judge someone by the noise they make. Go and meet them.
