The Elves and the Shoemaker
A poor shoemaker had just enough leather to make one last pair of shoes. He left it out and went to bed.
In the morning, the leather had become a beautiful pair of shoes! Someone had made them in the night.
He hid and watched. Two tiny elves crept in and stitched shoes until sunrise, then danced away.
To say thank you, the shoemaker and his wife sewed warm little clothes for the elves.
The happy elves put on their gifts, twirled with joy, and skipped off, never to be cold again.
A little kindness should always be returned with kindness.
