The Monkey Who Held a Grudge
A king's servant once shooed a monkey away from the palace steps.
The monkey never forgot it. He watched and waited for months and months.
He grew thin with waiting, and stopped playing with the other monkeys.
At last his moment came, and he knocked the servant's water pot to the ground.
The pot broke, the servant shrugged, and the day went on exactly as before.
The monkey had spent a whole year of his life on one small splash of water.
Holding a grudge costs you far more than it costs anyone else.
