The Musical Donkey
A donkey and a jackal slipped into a farmer's cucumber field at night to eat.
When they were full, the donkey felt wonderfully happy.
"I shall sing," he announced. "The night is perfect for a song."
"Please do not," said the jackal. "Your singing will bring the whole village."
But the donkey lifted his head and let out the loudest hee-haw in the world.
The jackal slipped away through the fence, and the donkey learned that some feelings are best kept quiet.
Not every feeling needs to be announced out loud.
Self-ControlDid you know?
A donkey's ears can move separately, so it can listen in two directions at once.
