The Merchant Who Forgot His Friend
Two young men started out together with one cart and one thin horse between them.
They worked hard for years, and slowly one of them became very rich.
The rich one moved to a fine house and stopped answering his old friend's letters.
Then a storm sank his ships and his warehouses burned, and his new friends vanished.
One person came up the road to help him: the old friend with the thin horse.
"I never stopped being your friend," he said. "You just stopped needing me."
