The Bird Who Guarded the Sea

Story 91 Think Before You Act 1 min read Ages 3–10

A little bird decided that the great sea needed watching, and appointed herself its guard.

All day she flew above the waves, calling out orders that nobody could hear.

She forgot to eat, forgot her nest, and forgot her own two chicks waiting at home.

The sea did exactly what the sea always does, with or without her.

One evening she came home and found her chicks cold and hungry.

From then on she guarded the only thing that truly needed her: her own small nest.
